Two Rings Are Out There Right Now
As of this week, the treasure hunt is real: a wave-engraved silver ring behind a Big Sur waterfall, and a koa-inlaid Legend ring on the Morro Bay sandspit. The clues are sealed until the films drop.
This stopped being a concept this week. Two rings — real metal, really hidden — are sitting in their spots on the California coast right now, waiting for the films that will teach you how to find them.
The Wave Ring, MTL-E001, is an Expedition-tier silver band engraved with rolling waves. It's hidden in the Salmon Creek Falls area on Big Sur's south coast, placed where the spray keeps the rock cold and no risky move is required to reach it.
The Koa Ring, MTL-L001, is the first Legend ring in existence: silver with twin channels of koa wood inlay. It crossed Morro Bay on a sailboat, came ashore on a surfboard, and now waits near a lookout on the sandspit, with the Pacific on one horizon and the harbor on the other.
Both clues are sealed until each film is released — the hunt starts the moment the videos go live, and everyone starts at the same time. Both rings are finders-keepers. Watch the films closely when they land; everything you need will be inside them.
